June 27

Council approved a donation in the amount of $70,000.00 to the Fox Creek for the Children Fundraising Society.

Council approved 7 Board Members and 2 Council members to sit on the 50th Anniversary Committee.

1st reading to the Fox Creek Municipal Development Plan was given.

Council approved to proceed with the construction of the Multi-Use Facility for an upset amount of $26,000,000.00 on a 50-50 cost share ratio with the Municipal District of Greenview #16.

 

June 13

Council passed Bylaw 769-2016 Borrowing Bylaw for the new Fire Hall.

Council passed Bylaw 770-2016 Borrowing Bylaw for the Multi-Use Facility.

Council passed Bylaw 771-2016 Interim Borrowing Bylaw for the new Fire Hall.

Council passed Bylaw 772-2016 Interim Borrowing Bylaw for the Multi-Use Facility.

Council proclaims the month of June 2016 as Recreation and Parks Month.

Council cancelled the first regular scheduled Council meetings for July and August. Council meetings will take place on July 25, 2016 and August 22, 2016 for the summer months.

Weed inspectors from the MD of Greenview have been appointed by Council to inspect and report on noxious weeds in Fox Creek.

Due to the age of the current fleet vehicles, Council approved the purchase of Fleet Vehicles for the Town of Fox Creek public works department.

The Town’s Gas Tax Fund allocation is $113,864 for 2016, provided by the Province of Alberta as part of a 10 year agreement.

Fox Creek has been presented with a Municipal Recognition Award in recognition of 20 years of Accreditation under the Safety Codes Act.

Alberta Municipal Affairs 2016 MSI allocation funds for Fox Creek will be in the amount of $646,094.00.

 

May 24

The Chamber of Commerce updated Council on the changes the Chamber of Commerce has made to better serve local businesses.

Fire Chief Les Paul came before Council to show is gratitude for all the support that was given by so many individuals, fire crew members, businesses and organizations during the wildfire.

Third and final reading was given to Bylaw 774-2016 – Rates of Taxation.

Council will be sending a letter of support to Northern Gateway Pipelines in support of the extension of the pipeline.

Mayor Ahn, Councillor Gervais and Councillor Burridge will be attending a MD of Greenview Council Meeting as a delegation concerning the Multi-use Facility and discussions of future operations of the facility.

The Town of Fox Creek Administration will be allowing credit card payments on property taxes and Town of Fox Creek services

May 9

Accurate assessment presented Council with a presentation regarding Tax Assessments.

Council approved the request to have Youth Council attend the upcoming Alberta Student Leadership Conference in Calgary May 29-31, 2016.

A temporary application for a 4 day automotive sales lot to be located at the Best Western lot has been approved.
