Happy 149th Birthday Canada!

Community spirit was shining bright, like the amazing firework display in the community on July 1.

Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, the day started with the parade, from the golf course along Kaybob Drive and back to the community hall parking lot. Many decorated vehicles, bikes, quads and big trucks joined the procession, led by the Royal Canadian Legion and emergency personnel.

Attendees met under the big blue and white tent, next to the arena (new location this year) for the singing of O’ Canada by Falon Snyder at the opening ceremonies.

Bouncey tents, slides, carnival games, scavenger hunt, dunk tank, watermelon and pie eating contest and family bingo were part of the activities.

Horizon North hosted the free breakfast and Freson Bros. hosted the free lunch. Many other companies provided free water and sweets for the kids. Fox Creek For the Children’s Playground Society hosted the dunk tank this year and hosted the supper.

A family dance, followed by our volunteer fire department hosting a spectacular fireworks show, completed the birthday celebration.fworks1 fworks2 fworks3 fworks4 fworks5 fworks7 fworks8 fworks10 fworks11
