We were happy to accept a cheque from the FCS Parent Council to sponsor the Glass House Collective here at the school on Friday, September 9. This is Canada’s only mobile glass blowing studio and they will be here for Saturday, September 10 as well, starting at noon.
Learn Zentangle, Vellum Masterpieces, Acrylic painting, create a caricature, work on a Tile Totem, do a Scrapbook project, or learn how to make spring rolls. You will make a crayon drip work of art, play with Gak, make a whomping willow tree, create with Make-Do, paint some Japanese Cherry Blossoms, do some Hoola-Hoop weaving and have fun with other hands-on art.
Fun for the whole family! The Playground Fundraising Group will be on hand with a BBQ
We have a display in the library this week to celebrate National Aboriginal Day. There is bead work, fur pelts, leather work, weaving and tools, all loaned by local people.
Our quilt display will be up until the end of this week as well.
Our Children’s Summer Reading Program this year follows the theme “WILD” and begins July 5 with different activities each week. It is a drop in program so no specific time, just whenever the library is open.
Register your child/ren at the library and pick up the logbook and a web access code. Read and come to the library every week for a prize and different activity.
July and August Library Hours will be Tues. and Thurs. from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and Wed from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
If you have been working on our Library Bingo game, the deadline to bring your Bingo cards in is Saturday, June 25 between 11:00 am and 12:00 noon. Remember the Blackout enters you in our draw for $100 in gift certificates. If you didn’t complete the entire Blackout but have finished some of the lines, you are still eligible for small prizes.
Thanks a lot, have a great summer.
