Library Happenings

We are just finishing up our BookFace Contest. The last day to enter is October 31. Voting will take place Nov. 2 through Nov. 6.

Be sure to check it out on our Facebook page (Fox Creek Municipal Library) and “Like” the photos you think should win in the different categories, or better yet check out the bulletin board just outside the library and come in and vote for your favorite in each category:

  • Preschool and Elementary
  • Teen
  • Adult

ITune and Amazon gift cards will be given to our winning entries.

There are numerous new laptops to use and the library now has a device charging station for when your phone or tablet is running low.  Come in and “Get Charged.”  Use a computer, read a magazine or book at our comfortable new chairs, or work on a puzzle at our games table while you wait.

We are excited and are planning a “Blast From the Past” in the new year for our patrons to enjoy some of the old time games and activities that kept people busy before electronics took over.  We are looking for items that would find our older patrons taking a walk down memory lane and would be a wonderful experience for our younger patrons.

Some examples would be a crank telephone, meccano, toy log cabin pieces, macramé materials and patterns, spinning tops, slide projector and slides, photos and negatives, manual adding machine and cash register, kaleidoscope, periscope and Rubik’s Cube.

Whew!  My memory fails me thinking back.

If you have any of these items or others that we haven’t thought of that you would be willing to lend us for January and part of February we would be happy to have them.

We will do our best to see that nothing happens to them but since this is meant to be interactive there are no guarantees.  Please contact the library.

Just a reminder of the library hours for students and the public:

  • Mon. – Friday:  8:15 am – 4:00 pm (on school open days)
  • Tues. and Thursday: 6 pm – 9 pm
  • Saturday: 11 am – 1 pm
  • (Closed holiday weekends)

The library is located in the school at 501 – 8 Street.
