The library will be closed over the Christmas break from Dec. 21 2014 to Jan 4, 2015 and will reopen on Mon. Jan. 5 at 8:15.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday season.
The month of January is Family Literacy Month. During the month, the library and CRC Literacy will again be sponsoring the Basket of Books Contest. For every book you read during the month of January up until draw day, come to the library and put your name and the title of the book in a draw for one of 5 prizes. Draws will be for Preschool, Grades 1 – 3, Grades 4 – 6, Grades 7 – 12 and Adult packages at the month end assembly.
To end the month, on January 27, 2015, Mary Ann Lippiatt, of “Story in My Pocket” will entertain our playschool through Grade 5 students with presentations in the small gym throughout the day. In the evening, in the library from 7 – 8 pm, Mary Ann will do a presentation for adults and teen and tween child care workers (baby sitters).
We are planning for child care in the elementary library during this time. A big thank you to the CRC and the Fox Creek Municipal Library for providing this contest and event for our students to promote literacy.
Parents of Grade Four students, please plan on attending our assembly near the end of January for the presentation of the books from the Library sponsored Grade Four Reading Incentive. After working hard on their projects, the students will each be presented with their own copy of “Hey Canada.” The Fox Creek Municipal Library has sponsored this program for several years now, starting in 2002-03 and looks forward to doing so for many more years.
