It was a nice switch from rubber boots, rain jackets and mud puddles this year, as the annual Slo-Pitch tournament/Beerfest was held under sunny skies.
Sixteen teams, which included eight local teams, as well as visiting teams from Whitecourt and Valleyview, played a number of great ball games at the diamonds June 6-8.
New this year, a dance was held at the community hall Saturday night, hosted by the Light Horse Club Association and featured a mechanical bull.
“It went really good, the weather was very rare,” said Acting President of the Slo-Pitch Association, Chace Lamb.
Another great addition this year, was homemade food and refreshments available for the ball players and the spectators. Stephen and Brenda Burridge, and helpers operated the concession at the diamonds this year and kids had sno-cones and lemonade stands set up.
“It was fantastic,” said Treasurer of the Slo-Pitch Association, Charity Chwok.
