Weather was No Limit for Slo-Pitch Tourney

| June 13, 2013
Where there is rain, there is mud, and ball games to be played!

Mother Nature blessed the revised diamonds with its share of moisture, and laundry machines were tested to their limits.

16 teams; 8 local and 8 out of town teams from Edmonton, Sturgeon Lake, Whitecourt, Fort Assiborne and Valleyview, all joined in the fun in the mud for the annual Beerfest Slo-pitch Tournament May 31- June 2.

The umps, known as the usual suspects, traveled from Morinville.  Larry Brandenburg, Doug Hill and Jerry Stepanurk were present to ensure the tournaments success.

Each team was guaranteed three games and even though the rain poured at moments, the tough teams played their games to the finish.

“Everyone generally enjoyed themselves. It went good, except the weather sucked,” said president of Slo-Pitch Association, Dallas Iampen.
