The hall was elegantly decorated in black, red, silver and gold.

Iosegun Girl Guides choir entertained by singing carols prior to the prime rib and lobster meal. The event was sold out with 200 guests.

As chosen by the public, recognized for outstanding service to the community, the 2012 Salute to Business winners are:

One to Nine Employees:  Rebel Hair

10 Plus Employees: Rexall Drugstore

People’s Choice: Freson Bros. IGA

Non-Profit Organization: Fox Creek Fire & Rescue Department

Chamber representatives presented each award recipient and staff members with a banner and certificate.

Other nominees were: Freelance Signs, Mindful Movement and Massage, Alstar Oilfield Contractors and Home Hardware Building Supplies.

A portion of the proceeds from the Festival of Trees will be donated to the Friends of Fox Creek Hospital Society to help cover the costs of the $43, 000 portable ultrasound machine. Here is a related Fox in Focus story: http://foxinfocus.ca/2012/08/31/enhancing-patient-care/.

Festival of Trees is a new innovative for the Chamber, held in conjunction with the small business Christmas party. “The response, for the first year, was awesome and overwhelming,” said one of the many volunteer organizers, Cathy Wiltse.

She extended her appreciation to board members, Diane Ahn, Mylene English, Hilary Morris and a long list of businesses.

President of the Chamber of Commerce Rene Fournier extended his gratitude to all of the sponsors and the board to host such a gala event.

Plans are already underway for the second annual event next year.
