First Annual Chamber of Commerce Festival of Trees

| November 7, 2012

We are excited to announce the first annual Fox Creek Chamber of Commerce Festival of Trees, to be held 29 and 30 November 2012, at Fox Creek Community Hall.

You are invited to design and decorate a tree and/or wreath, which will be made available for viewing on Family Night, Thursday, and for purchase by silent auction at the gala on Friday.

We welcome trees decorated by colour or theme, so please exercise your creativity. With your help, we will transform the hall into a lush and magical Christmas forest.

The hall will be open for viewing on Family Night from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hot dogs and hot chocolate will be available to tame hungry tummies, and kiddies will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa himself. There is no admission charge for Family Night, but visitors are encouraged to bring a donation for the Food Bank.

Friday night’s formal gala event will begin with cocktails and viewing of trees at 6:00 p.m. Supper will be served at 7:00 p.m. Guests will dine among the beautifully decorated trees. Silent auction bid sheets will be available throughout the evening, and a dance will follow.

A donation from event proceeds will be made to the Friends of Fox Creek Hospital Society. Tickets are available at a cost of $40 each. Please call the Chamber office at (780) 622-2670 to reserve yours.

Please consider celebrating the season with us by donating a tree decorated in your own unique design. Our elves are busy this time of year, but could create a tree for you, should you be unable to do it yourself. Of course, we welcome all levels of participation, so please speak with our Head Elves, Cathy Wiltse, (780) 622-7422, and Diane Ahn, (780) 622-7773.

A 10% discount is being offered by Home Hardware on trees and decorations purchased for the Festival.

We look forward to celebrating the season with you,
