When asked what motivated them to begin the interest list they responded, “There is a need for more adult recreational activities and programming in Fox Creek. Volleyball is an activity that both men, women and individuals of all skill level could enjoy. It’s a great game!”
Since then they’ve had just over 30 men and women sign up and will be having the first drop in this Sunday, Sept. 16, at the school gym, running from 7-8:30 pm.
“We have had a great response from community members. We find it important to encourage people that all skills levels are welcome and the program is all about getting out, being active and interacting with different individuals in the community,” said Kristen.
For now the co-ed drop in program is scheduled for a six to eight week period depending on feedback and attendance. If you’d like to drop in there is a $15 per person fee which includes a t-shirt.
The need for adult programing in our community is ongoing. The Community Resource Centre strives to offer a variety of programing that appeal to all age groups and interests.
Planning for programming is continuously in the works and new ideas and suggestions from community members are always welcome.
