Water Meter Project Huge Success
On July 12, 2012 the water metering project for the Town of Fox Creek was 97% completed. This was a major undertaking and without the great cooperation from YOU the residents it would not have been so successful. Thank you for taking the time to make an appointment, being available for the installation and helping to make this project such a success.
Council and Administration would like to give special recognition to Neptune Technology Group for their incredibly professional service. The Town did not have a local company that could undertake such a large project and Neptune came highly recommended. We certainly experienced first-hand why this group is well-known as the most experienced water meter installation company in Canada.
From the beginning of the project, Basil Ellinger and Kathy Lawrence have provided exceptional service with the presentation to Council, the informative open house for the residents and continual interaction with the Administration team. Andre Knights, Project Manager and crew went above and beyond to make sure that everyone had equal opportunity for their installation, with courteous and efficient service.
Over the next few months, Administration will be working with the new meter reading program and preparing data reports for the billing procedure. You will not see any changes to your bill at this time as there will be a grace period. Council and Administration will be working towards setting the water rate and you will be informed before it is implemented.
A special thank you goes out to the Town of Fox Creek Administration/Public Works team that worked diligently alongside Neptune. We are truly fortunate to have such dedicated employees.

Our town council gives lip service to attracting young families to our town who is going to be hit hardest by water meters, young families! They talk about conservation no one has ever proven that Fox Creek residents use excessive water, and while we are being metered and charged for water in the name of conservation. The oil and gas industry in the area are pulling water from the same aquifer the town uses at record rates and is paying a fraction of what the resident will be paying. Way to go council just another one of your many senseless endeavors. Now that the meters are in every time the town needs more revenue the rates will go up. First off the meters will have to be paid for but I’m sure the new water rates will be set to cover that cost. What a rip off!!!
I find that thanking the people of Fox Creek for cooperating in this endeavour a little disingenuous since we were all under the threat of fines of some sort if we didnt go along.
