February Court Report
The Alberta Justice Court convened Monday, Feb. 27. Judge J.A Watson presided. Duty Counsel Rory Ziv, and Crown Attorney Jodi Curry attended.
Scheduled to appear: 63 adults facing 109 charges, 34 of those charges involve 19 people making their first appearances. Four people facing charges were scheduled for trial, seven tickets were quashed for the wrong court dates and seven warrants issued for failing to appear. Charges were not disclosed for 11 youths scheduled to appear. In a total of 62 traffic tickets, 40 were for speeding.
Fines
Michelle Calliou was fined $402 for a careless driving charge.
Jason Fleury’s driver’s license was restricted for one year and a $1500 fine served for refusal to provide a breath sample. His charges for impaired driving and dangerous driving were withdrawn.
Douglas Murray was fined $100 for the possession of 14 grams of marijuana.
Bradley Rodrigue was fined $500 for driving with a suspended license.
Troy Erdman was granted six months to pay a $2875 fine for driving a motor vehicle without any insurance.
Judge Watson granted Tyrell Singer nine months to pay a $2875 fine for driving a motor vehicle without any insurance.
Jane Farquhar plead guilty to speeding 15 kilometer over the speed limit and was fined $124.
Suncil Bokaro was fined $78 for speeding.
The next court date is March 26.
