March 15, 2011 marks the debut of Fox in Focus.ca and the realization of a dream come true for reporter and photographer, Brandi Bedson.
“Community news and owning my own newspaper is what I know I want to do. It’s what I’m meant to do,” said Bedson. “The timing is right, the opportunity came along and I couldn’t be more excited.”
Local readers will recognize Bedson who, every week for six years, ensured Fox Creek community members and organizations saw their name, photos, projects and achievements in print.
When dreams materialize they almost always assume a slightly different form than the original. In January, 2011, Bedson’s dreams of paper and ink morphed into clicks and pixels.
“It’s the way of the future.”
An online community news source that will become your daily go-to resource for everything Fox Creek.
“We hope, never again, to hear stories about missed opportunities because visiting contractors or tourists didn’t know what resources were available here,” she said.
This debut edition includes many of the options, features and services these two know Fox Creek readers have wanted, or valued, for years – The Community Events Calendar is just one example. Effective, affordable events promotion, particularly for non profits, has always been a challenge. Bedson’s wealth of community knowledge will bring new energy to community spirit.
The online format offers more options and possibilities than Brandi or the readers can imagine alone.
“I want In Focus to be your go-to resource for everything Fox Creek,” said Bedson.
Fox in FOCUS may be a dream revealed, but it’s way more than that– this paper is Brandi’s gift to a community, she clearly loves.
Additional features, new contributors, unique advertising and presentation options are always in development and will be revealed in the future. Watch for:
Telling your stories * Promoting your efforts * Celebrating your achievements
